Introduction

I’m Dr. Michael Adams, board-certified in both Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. I work with adults navigating substance use disorders, trauma, mood and anxiety conditions, and life transitions that can feel overwhelming.

I have significant experience working with veterans, particularly those facing addiction and trauma-related challenges, and I understand the complexity of these experiences, including the impact of service, reintegration, and chronic stress over time. I also work closely with women navigating trauma and complex mental health concerns, including layered or long-standing experiences that require a thoughtful, individualized approach.

My approach is collaborative, structured, and grounded in respect. I focus on understanding the full picture of your health—not just symptoms. Together, we explore how biology, environment, lifestyle, and emotional experiences intersect, allowing for a more personalized and effective treatment plan.

In addition to evidence-based medication management, I incorporate integrative strategies to support long-term stability and recovery, including:

I completed medical school at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by psychiatry residency at HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine and an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of South Florida. My clinical experience spans hospital, outpatient, and integrated care settings, with a strong focus on treating addiction and trauma, including work with veteran populations and individuals facing complex mental health challenges.
